\nJob Duties
\nThis position supports the facility’s mission by working within a person-centered educational model as a member of an integrated team to provide support, education/training, and supervision of individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities, and to collect and record data and document services provided to these individuals. Individual support, training, and supervision is performed in the house, on-campus training and leisure sites, on the Center grounds, and off-campus in leisure, training, and employment sites. This position will become Medication administration certified after 90 days of employment. Medication administration certified staff may give medication in their assigned location or be assigned to administer medication in another location
This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested. \nMinimum Qualifications
\n High school education or equivalent is required. Experience working with people who have intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, or medical conditions is preferred. Valid Virginia’s driver’s license required. Successful completion of/ability to complete Pre-Service training class, including completion of medication course (if applicable), CPR, First Aid, and behavior interaction procedures.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions, observe and accurately document observations. Requires the ability to learn basic techniques and knowledge of developmental care & treatment. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, which includes standing, bending, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, providing support during all aspects of daily personal care, and intervening with aggressive behaviors. Successful completion of the facility’s Pre-Service training program, which includes CPR, First Aid, medication administration (if applicable), nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management, is required for continued employment. Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, Residential Managers and/or Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and ID team members. (Pre service training class is 12 days long 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and one day 2p-10p and one day 6am-230pm).
- POSITION WILL WORK PRIMARILY 2:00 PM TO 10:00 PM, ROTATING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS, BUT INCUMBENTS WILL NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE TO COVER OTHER SHIFTS IF NECESSARY (6AM-2:00PM AND 10PM-6AM).
