In this role, you will be the mastermind behind creating delightful pastries, sweets, and pies that bring joy to people's faces. Your expertise lies in crafting exceptional baked goods, ice creams, and show-stopping centerpieces that elevate the dining and banquet experience for our guests. The hotel depends on your skills to deliver top-notch products, and you take pride in achieving this while prioritizing safety, budget adherence, and efficient daily preparation planning.

Responsibilities:

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef to bring desserts, bread, creams, and jams to life, supporting the team's success in various areas.
• Lead by Example: Demonstrate your passion for the craft by preparing all foods safely, meeting sanitary standards, and minimizing waste. Encourage the development of others' skills in the culinary arts.
• Safety and Security Focus: Adhere to the hotel's safety and security protocols, proactively address issues, and seek management support when necessary.

$20.50 - $22.50

• Create and prepare a variety of pastry items for the hotel's dining establishments.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Develop new pastry recipes and innovative dessert offerings to enhance the menu.
• Train and supervise pastry kitchen staff to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to coordinate dessert offerings with the overall menu selection.

• At least 3 years of cooking experience in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred.
• A certificate in culinary training or apprenticeship as well as in sanitation standards preferred with artistic talent needed.
• Physical requirements include the ability to use various pieces of kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
• This job must perform medium work -- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning.
• The ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
• Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range.
• Must be able to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises, and to work long hours as is often required. Must be able to multi task, must possess good communication skills; must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English.
